Lecture 3. The Maritime Silk Road and the Medieval European Port Cities

Maritime trade linked places along the sea, such as around the African coast and all the way into China. The Maritime Silk Road also led to the travel of religious practices, with a mosque being built in Guangzhou. This lecture explores the multiple practices that travelled in conjunction with trade.
